Easy tiger! TO the best of my understanding your still in grade 10 (like me) and those problems are 2nd year university (At MIT, for crying out loud the best STEM school in the world in my opinion). Instead of worrying about the problems at MIT you should worry about getting in MIT (like me).
Note: I mean no offense to you. In the end it's your choice. Just trying to offer advice. HOPE to see you at MIT in a couple of years
Also if you do want to be a little prepared you take some open courses offered by MIT, like 8.01 taught by the best prof. in the world, WALTER LEWIN. You can download these videos freely at itune.
yes you are right. i am in grade 10. i don't "worry" for those problems at all. just from curiosity. ok, no offense. I HOPE to see you @ MIT in a couple of years. which courses you gonna take if you are admitted?? i will take for sure course 16, and probably course 1 too. i know OCW. i haven't dowloaded them, just i don't have time. i have a lot of homework for school. i study from books from higher classes for MIT. take part in competitions, and things like that. do you know what is Cogito do you have an e-mail? MSN? AIM? you can find my e-mails i think!!
First of all, I would like to apologize for replying so late! (I was really busy with school work). In response to what courses I’m going to take, hmmm I haven’t really looked into it yet but I’m going to see what I like down the road. And for “Cogito”, yes I know what it is, as in “Cogito der sum”. (what are you greek or something) “I think therefore I am” right? Okay so I see what you mean by that. You think that if you act/think like a MIT student you will be a MIT student. Right? And that is true to some extent as far as your not too overconfident. As for my email, I also (like Snively) got hacked into so I have to create a new one. But I will notify you when I do get one (via email).
not that I support tangent unrelated posts, but I'm fairly certain Dimitris meant www.cogito.org, the association with John Hopkins that "connects young thinkers" or something like that. Though I laughed pretty hard at rationalizing the latin translation and applying it to your circumstance for applying to MIT. Though for the sake of latin prosperity, I believe the phrase you're looking for is "Cogito ergo sum", though you should be more concerned with "Hackito ergo sum" ;) best of luck to the both of you.
yes, Chris you are right. i mean www.cogito.org. it's an online community from John Hopkins university, connecting academiccaly(sorry if the word academiccaly is wrong) gifted student around the world. i am member of this community. It's great. As Chris said, tha phrase is latin not Greek. And yes i am from Greece. I am the head person of a project, with target to reduce global warming. (this helps a lot i think, my application) This project is called Ten Minutes Off. We have a site designed, but we need to find money, to pay for hosting. We need 130 $. not a big amount for an adults, but it is for us, teenagers. If anyone of you want to donate, visit my profile. you will find there my e-mail address and, sent me an e-mail. thank you Chris. i have a couple of questions for you.First, which course/s you gonna take. And why you don't post usually on MIT blogs??
i don't know if they gonna accept you accept you at cogito. i was lucky. here is the link. http://www.cogito.org/AboutCogito/default.aspx?GetInvolved1 . if you want i could tell to the administators of the site, to "admit" you, but first i would like to know some more information about you. information about, in which field you are interested in science, where are you good and things like that. all members of cogito, have an IQ higher than the average. I don't say that if your IQ is the average, they won't accept you, just you need to be a bit smart. not idiot.
wrong. i become member of cogito, just i asked it from them.i know that cogito members are all invited. i mentioned that a friend of mine is already member there. maybe i was lucky. Ehsan have you taken part in any talent search?
"i become member of cogito, just i asked it from them.i know that cogito members are all invited."
That was the most contradictory thing I've read all week. Anyway, of course you can ask, but asking doesn't get you in - asking gets you considered for invitation. What got you inducted is probably whatever demonstrated interest you have had in science before, probably the competitions you have participated in, or that global warming project of yours.
If you have to ask to join Cogito, you are doing too much. It's not some college application, nor will being a member do anything for you in that regard.
AGREE with Ehsan @Ihydium "That was the most contradictory thing I've read all week." yes it was. sorry. i am from Greece. english is not my native language. sorry. Are you a student @ MIT?? are youa member of cogito? if you know people from cogito, ask them if they know a member called Dimitris_aerospace . This is me. @ Ehsan " MIT would definetly care! They care about what you do in your free time and if you help science that is a big plus for acception" Agree!!! Science Olympics team Chess team (I rank high in the province) Robotics team Math Club Write all those things in this e-mail. please e-mail me your last name(if you want) so i will contact the admin of the site, and ask from here to accept you. just tell me when you gonna send an e-mail to cogito.
